It seems like in today’s industry, with how close knit all of us photographers are, we are constantly hearing about eachother’s successes and accomplishments. Through social media, it is easy to get a constant feed of who’s being featured…

The Sweet Blessing of Rejection

When it comes to fulfilling our callings and pursuing the things we were meant to do, why do so many people back down from their fullest potential? The answer is quite simple; it is the fear of rejection that puts up a wall between us and our wildest dreams. This is where I struggle, when it comes…

Speak Up! {A one month challenge}

Take a moment and think. How many times has the smallest gesture from someone else completely made your day? A comment on your blog, a quick email or facebook message, or even just a sincere verbal compliment. The result: A huge goofy grin that doesn’t leave your face for hours….all because of something that only took someone less…

    I usually hold back, so often what I think because sometimes I assume that to others it won’t matter, or they may already know how awesome they are…. (Especially when said people are pretty ‘popular’). But I know the feeling whenever someone compliments something I do, create, or say. Online, or off. I was in the movie theatres, and a girl told me how much she loved how I did my hair. That made my night. Why do we always tell ourselves NOT to say something, when that something could make that persons day, give them confidence when they were insecure, etc?

    Kristin….i have a little story to add to this. I cannot tell you how many times my friends, family , people I see in the store I haven’t seen in months…comment on my photos to me in person and DON”T bother to tell me on the post! I’ve actually had a hard time…self pitty moments on this subject on why they don’t LIKE it on facebook and tell me then! I’ve made a pack to myself to write back on posts..not just like…about their comment, picture etc. I’m personal like that and like the idea of this challenge. I accept hole heartedly. Paying it forward!

    I am so excited to challange myself with this! I know that when I get a nice compliment, I smile from ear to ear : ) I think a lot of people now days are so afraid of giving a nice complement thinking that the other person will think they are wierd or a stalker, I know most people probably think I am a goof for actually starting a conversation with them without actually knowing them. This shall be fun!

Spread your light!

  “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle” -James Keller   Although I heard it quite awhile back, this quote has been at the front of my mind recently. It is so simple, yet speaks such a strong message! I love how relevant the example is…. In my mind, I see a single lit…

    Thanks for writing this! I really needed to read this today. We all have struggles and right now I am really going through it. I have to admit I haven’t prayed about it nearly as much as I have talked about it. I took the last hour after reading this to pray and give all my thoughts to God. It is amazing the peace he will give us when we just ask.
