I was just reminded this morning of the simple principle that You are who you associate with. I see so many people compromising by surrounding themselves and being influenced by people that will in no way bring them up, but rather quickly take them down. I see people doing it in their personal lives with certain friendships but I also see people doing it even in their business relationships. Now don’t get me wrong. I am all for loving everybody and helping to re-direct those headed in the wrong direction. However, we have to always be mindful of who we are closely associating our personal lives and even our brand with. I have always made the decision to surround myself with those who are able to build me up, and not tear me down. I want to be closely fellowshipping with those who are loving, focused, determined, disciplined and about more than just themselves. I want to live a life pleasing to my Heavenly Father and will not compromise when it comes to doing so.
So a word of caution today. Don’t sacrifice your reputation, your business, or your character just make a quick buck, or to try and make it to the top or to even be the most popular. It’s not worth it! That will not bring true success and even if it gets you some measure of popularity, it will never make you truly happy or at peace. Be yourself and most of all be true to yourself and who you are destined to be. Surround yourselves with those who are about a future! Surround yourselves with those who want to succeed in the right way. Surround yourselves with those who are selfless. Surround yourselves with those who are wise, like-minded, discerning individuals that can help pray you into your purpose! Every relationship is not worth it and neither is every business partnership. Choose wisely…your future could depend on it.
