P31 Artist Feature | Photographer Sarah Delanie

Hi there! My name is Sarah Delanie, I am 15 years old and am in LOVE with what God is doing in my life with photography! This shoot right here has a special place in my heart primarily because it is of my dad! I adore my father with everything in me, he is so encouraging and supportive as well as a great spiritual leader in my life.

This shoot has quite a funny story behind it. One evening while I was sitting in my room browsing on facebook and chatting with friends I get a a phone call from my dad.. “Hey sweetheart! What are you up to?” Not much I replied. He then proceeded to say that he would like me to take some shots of him in his suit on his new paddle board.

Here is the thing you need to know about my dad. He is audacious, daring and just all around wild, so I was not surprised when he asked me to do such a crazy thing! “I’ll be home in 5!” he said. As I quickly hurried to pull together all my equipment {5d canon Mark ii, and 85mm lens} I ran out the door to meet my dad and head down to the lake near our house.

As the sun set on the glimmering lake and boats drove by making waves, my dad maintained his balance&composure, which produced some crazy cool and unique shots!

Some may wonder how this is corresponding to my branding? I believe in being authentic, stepping out of the box and being bold and courageous for Jesus Christ. One of my favorite verses is Songs of Solomon 2:2 ” Like a lily among thorns is my daughter amongst the maidens.”

The desire of my heart is to be a lily in a world of thorns and thats what I want to encourage each of you ladies in. Don’t listen to the lies and doubts this world tosses at you. Stand strong in the will of God and be bold and authentic for His kingdom! Believe me when I say He is faithful, merciful and gracious, all we have to do is put our trust in Him!
